Third Party Lab Reports of Fraudulent Butterbur Brands

Two independent laboratory analyses certify these products as fraudulent under Section 502 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), which prohibits misbranding, including false or misleading labeling.

Independent ISO 17025–accredited laboratories verified that these products contain non-detectable levels of petasins and isopetasins. Analysis of butterbur supplements for petasins and pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs) using validated UPLC-UV and HPLC-TOF-MS methods revealed substantial quality variability.

PAs—toxic compounds naturally present in unprocessed butterbur—were absent in all Butterbur products.
